July 2024

Traffic Calming
The first Vehicle Activation Sign (VAS) has now been installed in Parkgate Road. It flashes up 30 and ‘slow down’ to those exceeding the speed limit. Plans are underway to install another two in Kingsland and the Rusper Road. We hope that this will act as a reminder to motorists to respect the 30mph speed limit whilst travelling through the village therefore making it safer for residents and road users.

Elections and the Requirement for Voter ID
A reminder that anyone who wishes to vote at a polling station in the forthcoming elections on 4th July 2024 will only be able to do so if they can show an eligible form of Voter ID that has sufficient photographic likeness to the allow the election staff to recognise you.
If you are on the electoral roll and you do not currently have photo ID, you are able to apply for a free voter ID document (Voter Authority Certificate) from Mole Valley District Council by pasting this link www.molevalley.gov.uk/elections-voting/how-to-cast-your-vote. The deadline for ordering your free pack is 26th June 2024 at 5pm.

Mole Valley District Council – Alert Service
My Mole Valley is a service accessed via the home page of the MVDC website. If you select the ‘where you live’ link you will be invited to choose an address (start typing and options will appear). A range of information will be displayed for your chosen address including: waste collection dates, contact details for your local MVDC Councillors and planning information which is relevant to that property. You can also sign up to the email notification service, this gives you the option to receive a weekly reminder email of bin collections and any service updates MVDC issues.

Who Should I Report it to MVDC or SCC?
Mole Valley District Council recently published a poster to help residents know who to call with their query. We have added this poster to our website under ‘News Items’ so please do take a look. [Follow link to Where to go for help with local services]
