Annual Parish Meeting 11th March 2024
The Parish Council would like to thank all those from the community who took time to attend in person or submit their reports to share with the residents.  We had presentations from Alan Horden who is the Chair of the Mole Valley Community Fund and PC Oliver Storey our local police officer for Newdigate Parish and our Chairman William Harmsworth.  All reports can be found on our website.

Brickworks
We now have a written agreement with Surrey Wildlife Trust which will enable the Parish Council to have a greater involvement with management and maintenance of the Newdigate Brickworks.  Until a Newt survey has been completed, we are restricted on what work we are able to undertake.  Cllr Bill Kear has offered to take on the role as NPC representative and co-ordinate with SWT the schedule of work to be carried out.

Speedwatch
Excellent progress has been made with regard to the Speedwatch project and we must thank Cllr Peter Perdue for his diligence and hard work for pushing this initiative through.  Thanks go to all the team for their efforts out on the roads catching speeding vehicles and reporting these details on to the police.

Newdigate Primary School Swimming Pool
A working group are looking at the sustainability of the school pool. Although these facilities have been enjoyed by pupils, residents and local families for many years increasing costs and maintenance issues are proving costly.  Headteacher Paula Bliss is reaching out to the community to ask for help to keep the pool open!  Any help either by financial donations or support in the day-to-day running would be gratefully received.  Please call the school office on 01306 631353 if you can help in any way.

Ditches
Please remember that at this soggy time of the year it is important to keep your ditches clear!  They are your responsibility, not your neighbours.

Village Litter Pick
Thanks go to all the residents and Phill Crutcher for making such a success of the Village Litter Pick on Saturday 9th March, luckily the weather was kind.  Approximately 20 bags of rubbish from the village and surrounding roads was collected so well done everyone.

The Councillors can be contacted by emailing the clerk: clerk@newdigateparishcouncil.gov.uk but please do remember that request to add items for discussion on the agenda need to be received at least 7 days in advance.

Please note our next Full Parish Council meeting will be held on Tuesday 2nd April (Monday Bank Holiday) starting at the later time of 8pm.
